An Evening of Gut Love

It’s almost been a week since we hosted our inaugural event Movement & Mindfulness for Digestion at the beautiful Toronto Yoga Mamas in Leslieville. It was such a beautiful evening and we’re SO thankful for all of the positive feedback we’ve received. Thank you to everyone who came out and to everyone who helped make it happen!

On March 14th, at 7:15 pm, the attendees streamed into Studio B at Toronto Yoga Mamas and were welcomed with a glass of kombucha, courtesy of Tonica Kombucha, before finding their mat. Once everyone was seated and ready to go, I made the introductions and then Heather Lillico, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Yoga Instructor, lead a slow moving yoga class. There were lots of twists, stretches and breathing exercises all aimed at promoting and aiding digestion – it was so lovely!

Once Heather completed the Movement portion, she handed the baton to Kate Petriw and Nina Purewal, authors of Let That Sh*t Go – a national bestseller! Kate and Nina discussed the importance of calming the mind in order to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and then lead the group through two mini meditations. It was SO relaxing!

Once the Movement & Mindfulness portions were complete, guests enjoyed mini cupcakes courtesy of Kelly’s Bake Shoppe (gluten-free and vegan) and mingled around while checking out their sweet swag bags!

The swag bags were thoughtfully curated with all products related to the gut and mind. We were so thankful to have all of the swag bag goodies sponsored and want to thank all of our AWESOME sponsors: Smash + Tess, Rawcology, Intelligent Change (makers of The Five Minute Journal), Tea Pigs, Bathorium, Saje, Sproos and Well Told Health. We also want to give a big shout out to our friend and florist, Rosehill Blooms, for sponsoring the most gorgeous arrangement, which took a seat front and centre of the room.

What a night! Although the photos may not be professional – they are great memories…we can’t wait for event #2! Stay tuned!

A huge thank you also goes out to Toronto Yoga Mamas who provided us with the space for the evening. Last but certainly not least, thank you to both Tonica Kombucha and Kelly’s Bake Shoppe for providing us with delicious fuel!
